Friendly, busy pub
This low-ceiling hall nicknamed the hollow
is a large and friendly pub with a wide menu
and choice of beer. A few hundred yards from
Wenceslas Square, it tends to be quite popular
with English-speaking expats and Czechs who
gather around the central bar or on the wooden
tables around it. The menu includes a mixture
of Tex-Mex, traditional Czech and contemporary
American dishes. The choice ranges from fried
chicken wings to spicy burritos. The prices
are slightly higher than those of ordinary
Czech pubs in the area.

Expat pub extraordinaire, Jama is the
place to go for a cold beer and American sympathy.
Plus they've got big breakfasts and some of
the best burgers in town. To walk in and sit
at the bar, which is most often taken over
by the expat crowd, you would never suspect
that some 75-percent of their customers are
actually Czech. Jama now offers free internet
to all guests via three terminals in their
no-smoking room, and there's free Wi-Fi throughout
the restaurant. Oh yeah, they've also got
that waitress, Linda.

Loud and collegiate year-round, this long
bar serving Mexican food is the choice of
the local business crowd. The Arizonans who
run it also sponsor the literary quarterly
Prague Revue, but you'd never guess it from
the noisy, beery atmosphere, the extensive
menu of cocktails (often on special), faux
cacti, video counter or bank of internet terminals.
Service is above average and a beer garden
in the back offers a break from the noise
within.

Nosh on some Mexi-American fare and converse
in an atmosphere where Czech is actually the
foreign language. Stoner rock decor and an
all-English video rental biz in the front
round out this collegiate ex-pat haven.

American run, friendly pub with good food
and fairly good prices. They have a mixed
clientele and a good brunch menu at the weekends.
Happy hours and good service.
